Afipka NPZ conducted complex emergency response exercises
Afipka NPZ held scheduled complex exercises to eliminate a mock emergency oil spill at the production facility of the enterprise in the run-up to the fire season.
According to the exercises script, an emergency depressurization of one of the tanks with raw materials occurred in the shop of tank farms, pumping and utilities, which resulted in a spill of 8.3 thousand tons of oil on an area of 5.74 thousand sq.m.
The dispatching service of the refinery promptly notified the management of the enterprise and called rescuers. Then the emergency teams set to searching for the victims and eliminating the consequences of the mock accident. All the stages of the exercises were passed within the time limits established by the regulations.
Employees of the fire department, gas rescue unit, security company, as well as specialists of the professional rescue and rescue unit of Krasnodar took part in the exercise. In total, the event involved 67 people and 17 pieces of equipment.
The accident-prevention training exercises were also observed by representatives of the Southern Regional Center of Russian Emergency Ministry, the Main Directorate of Russian Emergency Ministry for Krasnodar Krai, the North Caucasus Department of Rostekhnadzor, the Emergency Management Department for the Krasnodar Krai, the administration of the Seversky District Municipality.
